JAN LULEY
Jan Luley has been one of the most interesting and versatile pianists in Europe for decades. He has found his musical home in New Orleans, where he regularly spends time and also organises trips there. With his mostly melodic and groovy style, he draws on the stylistic diversity of New Orleans between tradition and modernity and combines classical jazz with contemporary influences as well as elements from world music, gospel, New Orleans rhythm'n'blues and pop.
Jan Luley is also active as a composer, arranger and singer and has played over 2500 concerts in 18 European countries as well as in Africa, the USA and Israel. His piano playing can be heard on 21 albums, most of which have been released on his own label Luleymusic Records. The Berklee College of Music presented him with an award for "Outstanding Musicianship" in 1995. In 2011, Jan Luley received a certificate from Mitchell Landrieu, the mayor of New Orleans at the time, in recognition of his services to the musical tradition and musicians in New Orleans. In addition to his musical career, Jan Luley is a consultant and artistic director of festivals and concert series, a workshop lecturer at home and abroad and, together with his wife Eda, organizes trips to New Orleans and the Baltic States.

The Christmas concert at Bad Hersfeld town church
After the fantastic atmosphere last year, there will be another Christmas concert in the town church of Bad Hersfeld this year - and then only every two years. This year I have the pleasure of presenting pure female power: From Hamburg comes the fantastic Julie Silvera Jazz. She is an opera singer, jazz singer, gospel singer and entertainer and has performed on stage with greats such as Michael Bublé and George Benson. She is joined on bass by Germany's most renowned double bass player, Lindy Huppertsberg, who got her stage name "Lady Bass" from her role model and teacher Ray Brown and has toured and played in no fewer than 60 countries around the world. SAVE THE DATE! Pre-sales start in mid-September.

Hot shots in New Orleans 2025
From March 26th to April 3rd, 2025, I will be leading a tour group to New Orleans again. Unique photo opportunities and lots of music in small clubs, Creole food, southern plantations and swamps with alligators - New Orleans has an incredible amount to offer. We will learn a lot about architecture, slave history, the beginnings of jazz and, as always, we will just take incredibly good photos and have a lot of fun in the Big Easy.
The pre-registration list is already full, further registrations for the waiting list are still possible. Find out more and register here .
